When scraping Prometheus-formatted metrics and writing them to InfluxDB Cloud, metrics are parsed and stored in InfluxDB in different formats.
Use Telegraf or Flux to scrape Prometheus-formatted metrics from an HTTP-accessible endpoint and store them in InfluxDB.
Flux is going into maintenance mode. You can continue using it as you currently are without any changes to your code.
